I like about this piece the most, is that it is real. It rained on
Halloween morning and there were crews out picking romaine lettuce in
their slickers. The jefe
was
always standing tall, watching over
everything in his exaggerated white cowboy hat. Being
Halloween,
they really looked a bit like yellow ghosts out there. The tractor
driver, though I know never left his seat behind the wheel, was never
visible because of the light and I kept him that way in the spirit. If
not clear yet, I painted this as fast as I could to capture the moment
that was literally right outside the window next to my computer. I do
believe this is the only time I have ever tried computer painting in
that fashion. |
